The Follow-Up Question

Jul 12, 2021

This week I welcome Heino Falcke, an award-winning astrophysicist who helped lead the team of astronomers that captured the first-ever image of a black hole.

His new book, Light in the Darkness: Black Holes, the Universe, and Us, is a fascinating recount of how people from all over the world came together to peer into the depths of space in a way that had never been done before.

Two things can be true at the same time, and as you’ll hear from Heino, you can look to the universe and see the edges of scientific discovery and physics and the equations that tell us about the cosmos, and you can also see the beauty, the wonder, and the unknowable nature of the stars, planets, galaxies and have it strengthen your belief in the existence of God.
